where the forest meets the coast. it reminded us of the part in The Lord of the Rings where Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pippin are hiding from the Ring Wraith---but not near as dark or buggy!
see that little black spot in the water? that's the closest i got to photographing a whale! they're so quick that by the time i had my camera aimed and focused they're gone!
after enough water had spilled out, the tube would flip back upright, banging on the rock under it and making a loud knocking noise. apparently it was used to keep boars away, hence the name "boar scarer"
there are 2 nights that are formal nights when everyone gets all fancied up and goes to dinner and a show. emily and i are wearing dresses that emily made! awesome dresses, eh?
emily and jeff's wedding anniversary was may 30th---while we were on the ship, and jeff's in iraq. garth and vickie got emily flowers for her anniversary.
this is a cheese sculpture. it's a terrible picture, but i had to save it because it made us laugh---cartain features looked very masculine for a mermaid. other features were definitely female (i can't bring myself to call it feminine)
