This was the view from my front porch looking east. There were 4 smaller fires that grew and merged and quickly burned up the side of the mountain. Around 8,000 people were without electricity because of the fire. Our power was out before we got home from work and didn't come back on until almost 5 A.M.---12 hours. It's amazing to realize just how much we depend on electricity!

can you see the plane just above the mountain? it just dropped it's load of red powder fire retardant.

just before i went to bed, i looked out to see how the fire was doing....looks like a little village of lights up there.
